Why? Eskimo Snow
Yoni Wolf of Why? is probably one of my favorite musicians hands down. He's been in many bands and collaborations ( Hymie's Basement, Clouddead, and Odd Nosdam) all which I respect . I couldn't stop listening after I heard Rubber Traits off of last.fm two summers ago, which made me give Alopecia a chance. At first, I thought that this was the weirdest music I've ever heard, but after a while it started growing on me and I listened to everything he released. Till this day, Elephant Eyelash is one of my favorite albums.
Eskimo Snow was written during the same time as Alopecia. I've heard three songs so far, and they are awesome. The tone or overall mood of the cd seems like it'll be dark with a lot of piano. The Album will be released on September 22nd. Right now Yoni and the band are working on the album art. I'm looking forward to his show at the echoplex in October!

Ute Ploier Fall 2009
Ute Ploier is the Vienna based designer who established her label in 03. Ploier shows two collections a year. Her Fall 2009 collection is influenced by fighters, hence the Name Bardagamadur. Ploier also made boxing inspired gloves and hats to incorporate her direction. Ute makes sensible and functional clothes. I can't wait to see what she does for Spring.

Christophe Lemaire's collection is created with meaningful garments. The collection has a very earthy and natural feeling, with the perfect pop of color. Making this fall collection anything but dull.

Moody Motorcycle
Human highway is a folk acoustic duo including Nick Thorburn (The Unicorns + Islands) and Jim Guthrie. They released Moody Motorcycle last year on August 19th, 2008. The album is very quirky yet mature at the same time. If only they would play a show in California...
